I currently live in Western WA, where the rainy weather makes me want to travel~! I've explored all fifty US states, and beyond, and I could be packed and ready to go again in minutes. It's a genetic trait; the women in my family for generations have loved to travel. We call it the "gypsy gene." As I prepared to write my first book, "Tips From The Cruise Addict's Wife," I realized I know more than most travelers. Like that old poster: Those who think they know it all are annoying those of us who do.I think it's because I have a fear of missing something wonderful, so I prepare and plan. The other books came from my love of cooking, and children. I read cookbooks like novels, right on through, but seldom follow a recipe as written. Food is a creative medium, made for playing with and experimentation. A source of pride is that all of my grown kids are the primary cooks in their families, and darn good ones, too!
I'm a mom, grandmother, former cub scout and Girl Scout leader, and I've headed up the 75+ strong Church children's group for years. I know and love kids, and I find thier creativity and energery endlessly entertaining. The most important thing is my family, who have stories of their own, mostly of packing and going on the road again.
